When to go

Current Conditions:
Fair, 13 C

The best time to visit Burgas is from the beginning of June until the end of September. The city as such presents little attraction except for the large, lush, airy sea garden and the long, fine sanded beach, which is normally crowded in the Summer. But Burgas can serve as a good base to visit nearby beaches south of the town, while avoiding camping in tents or bungalows.

How to get there

BOOK A FLIGHT

By Air

Burgas has its own airport, which during the Summer is connected with direct flights to London-Luton, Copenhagen, Budapest, Moscow, St Petersburg and Oslo. The flights from Sofia are 17 per week. From the airport you could take a cab to the town center (up to 10 eur), or a bus (0,5 eur), which reaches the central train station in the middle of the town.

By Rail

To journey from Sofia lasts 6:30 to 8:30 hours, so a good option is to take a night train. The train station is in the town center, at the beginning of the pedestrian area.

By Road

From Sofia it takes about 5 hours via the highway to Plovdiv to reach Burgas, the total distance is 404 km.

Where to stay

Burgas is in general less luxurious experience than Varna, but you can still find an appropriate hotel for your class. The nicest ones are located around the sea garden and at the main pedestrian streets Bogoridi and Alexandrovska.
