BalkanTravellers.com
The event, organised as part of the Skopje Summer by the International Management Group, IMG, and the Italian Embassy in Skopje, aims to show that the culture route in Skopje is not fictional, and that it could be an important step towards the creation of a museum district and the revitalisation of one of Skopje’s most beautiful parts.
“The idea is to elevate people’s awareness about the existence of cultural routes and return slowly life in this part of Skopje making cultural values in the museums and cultural heritage available to Skopje citizens and others. The museums and buildings of the cultural heritage are a complex system that can be used in the economic development of the country,” Tomislav Stefanovski, project manager of IMG implementing the activities in education and culture funded by the Italian government, told the Vecher newspaper today.

On Saturday night, more than 200 people dressed in nineteenth-century attire, jugglers, pantomime artists, and citizens will gather at 8 pm at Macedonia Square. From there, they will go across the Stone Bridge to Daut Pasa Amam where the event will officially open at 8:30 pm.
The procession will continue to the Temov Winery, where the band Chalgyia Sound System is to perform at 9 pm. The Lyuboyna band will perform outside Kapan An, and a poetry reading and theatre play will be performed at Cifte Amam. The band Foltin will perform at Suli An. The event is to end outside Kursumli An via Bezisten where musicians will be located. Bezisten will serve as a corridor leading to Museum of Macedonia, outside of which the band Super Hiks will play at 11.00 pm.
