International Theatre Festival Begins in Macedonia, with Plays from Albania, Croatia, Bosnia

The play, based on Gogol’s short story, is produced by Germany’s National Theatre from Berlin and is directed by Hanna Rudoloph. It stars Samuel Finzi, a Bulgarian actor who has worked in Germany since the early 1990s.
The festival, which continues until November 10, will also feature performances from Albania, France, Italy, Croatia, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Switzerland.
An international jury, comprised of director Niko Gorsic from Slovenia, actress Ilka Muja from Albania and Macedonian journalist Sotir Trajkov, will decide on the festival Grand Prix.

A Prayer Carried by the Winds
All over Bhutan – from the cities, by the roads and in villages, one can see colourful pieces of fabric, imprinted with Buddhist images and texts, blowing in the wind. These are prayer flags, unique to the Himalayan branch of Buddhism. The idea behind them is that when the wind blows, it picks up and carries the imprinted prayers to the skies, “for the benefit of all sentient beings."
