The show, titled “In between - Austria Contemporary, will be on display until February 7 in the "Perjanici" (Grenadier) section of the royal Petrovic Palace.
Aimed at highlighting the way young artists deal with today’s reality and the positions they take, the exhibition showcases the works of over 20 young Austrian artists including Andessner, Astuy and Draschan to the „Bildkombinat Bellevue“, Böck, Eichhorn, Fogarasi, Giannotti, Heller, Kaludjerovic, Wilfling and Zimmer.
When it opened in January, the exhibition – which provides an update on contemporary Austria, was met with great interest, as Montenegro still holds an image of Austria as a former neighbour in the Austro-Hungarian Empire that is very positive yet still largely traditional, the isria.com website reported.
The event, part of the cultural cooperation between the two countries, was organized by Montenegro’s centre for contemporary art, the Cultural Ministry of Montenegro, the Austrian Federal Ministry for Education, Arts, and Culture, and the Austrian Embassy in Podgorica.
