8 March 2010 | Turkey will be the most preferred summer destination for British tourist this year, according to a survey by the British leading online tour operator On the Beach.

British tourists’ bookings for summer holidays in Turkey grew by 63 per cent compared to last year, according to the tour operator’s survey, cited in horemag.bg.

Britain is slowly coming out of the crisis, according to the survey but tourists will continue searching for the best price offers.

In addition, it became apparent that tourists from the island this year intend to go on a single longer holiday, rather than a few shorter ones, and will be betting on tried and tested destination, rather than exploring new ones.

Turkey is the most popular destination for summer vacations this year as it offers the best correlation between high quality and reasonable prices, Alistair Daly, marketing director of On the Beach.

The other destinations that are expected to be popular among British tourists this summer, in order, following Turkey, include Egypt, the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands and Costa Blanca.
