Visa Regime between Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina May be Liberalised

BalkanTravellers.com

11 July 2008 | The visa regime between Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina should be liberalised, government officials from the two states agreed during their recent meeting.

When intensive negotiations for the liberalisation of the visa regime with the EU countries are going on, there should be no reason why the same could not take place between Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albanian Parliament Speaker Jozefina Topali was quoted as saying by the Albanian electronic media BalkanWeb.

Both Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania, as BalkanTravellers.com reported earlier, are currently undergoing negotiations with the EU regarding the Union’s visa regime liberalisation.

Topali was invited for a two-day visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina by Niko Lozančić, Chairman of the House of Representative of the Parliament. According to Lozančić, BalkanWeb reported, the cooperation between the two states should deepen because they have common interests and goals and they are striving towards integration into NATO and the EU.

Albania, Lozančić said, should serve to Bosnia and Herzegovina and the countries in the region as a model and an example for a quick and successful integration into NATO.

Albania is expected to join the pact next April, along with Croatia, after the two countries were officially invited a couple of months ago.
