BalkanTravellers.com

13 August 2008 | Meteorologists in Serbia and Romania warn that the temperatures in the two countries will be very high in the next several days.

Starting on Wednesday in Serbia, according to the Blic newspaper, tropical temperatures are expected until the end of the week. High temperatures are to range between 33 and 38 degrees Celsius and doctors warn citizens to be extra careful.

Serbian meteorologists say, however, that this is expected to be the last heat wave for the year.

In Romania, temperatures will also soar in the next couple of days. A yellow, or second highest, alert has been raised for Thursday and Friday, warning against dangers from the heat.

The alert is valid for 15 counties, including Bucharest, where temperatures are expeted to reach 37 to 38 degrees Celsius.
