1 Million Tourists from Russia, Poland, Bulgaria and Romania to Visit Greece in 2008

Only the number of Russian tourists, according to the Greek Kathimerini newspaper, which published the forecast, has increased by 40 per cent this year.
The northern part of the country benefits the most from those tourist groups, according to the publication, which also noted a growth in the cruise and sea tourism sectors in Greece.
Greek tourists, on the other hand, seem to be faring much worse. About 40 per cent of Greeks, the Ta Nea newspaper reported today, did not go on vacation this summer because of the high prices.
In addition, from those Greeks who can afford to go on holiday, as BalkanTravellers.com reported yesterday, many chose to head to neighbouring Balkan countries both for summer and winter vacations, because of the increasing prices in Greece.
