Art Keeps Bulgaria’s City of Plovdiv Wide Awake during Night of the Museums
BalkanTravellers.com
A total of 31 venues, including museums, galleries, cinema and theatre halls, and even less usual ones, such as a bookstore and community centre, cafés, night clubs, parking lots and private gardens will participate in the event, according to the organisers.
The Night of the Museums in Plovdiv is one of the city’s annual highlights and easily one of the country’s most exciting yearly cultural events. The experience of joining the crowds late at night to walk around the steep, cobblestone streets of Plovdiv’s Old Town in autumn, combined with the opportunity to stop by and take a look at a different art event on every corner is difficult to beat.
Entrance to all the participating venues is free.
Visit the Night of the Museum and Galleries official website for a complete programme, as well as a list of eateries that will stay open late to cater to hungry art-lovers.
