Ensembles from Serbia, Bulgaria and the World Perform at Puppet and Mime Festival in Kilkis, Greece

2 October 2008 | The tenth edition of the international festival for puppet theatre and pantomime brings together 23 ensembles from five continents to the cities of Kilkis and Thessaloniki in the northern part of Greece between October 1 and 14.

The festival programme includes performances, seminars, workshops and puppet exhibitions. Its main part will be carried out in the Municipal Council Hall and the Public Library of Kilkis, but there will also be street performances and night shows in bars in the city. Some performances will also be held in the "Melina Mercouri" Municipal Theatre of Kalamaria in Thessaloniki between October 6 and 10.

In addition to companies from Greece, the festival includes performances by guest troupes from Spain, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Serbia, Germany, Italy, South Africa, Bulgaria and Indonesia, among others.

The programme’s shows are also diverse – from traditional puppet theatre to shadow theatre, performances with feet and legs and juggling and singing.
