The two countries’ markets are considered as one whole for the first phase of the growth in the company’s operations, the Greek Imerisia newspaper reported.
Final decisions about the new stores in Bulgaria and Albania will be announced during the first half of 2009, the publication wrote.
The company’s new chain for low-priced goods, Lion Food Stores, which has been developing as an idea in the last four years, is a good match for e development of the Balkan markets.
It is expected that by the beginning of November, the first Lion Food Stores venues will open in Greece’s periphery where many large chains for products with reduced prices already operate. The plan is for the new chain to create a network of 70 stores.
