BalkanTravellers.com

4 November 2008 | The Croatian train-building factory Gredel will repair 10 of Railways of Montenegro’s train cars, after the factory won an international tender and an agreement between the two companies was signed today.

The repair and remodelling of the train cars, which are over 20 years old, will cost an estimated 3.5 million euro, according to a report by the Focus Information Agency. Their modernisation will be accompanied by the installation of air conditioners in order to make the passengers’ journey more comfortable.

It is expected that the repair of the first five train cars will be completed in May of 2009 and the remaining five should be done by August of the same year.

During the tourist season, the train cars will go between the port town of Bar in Montenegro and Serbia’s capital, Belgrade.
