Swimming along Greece’s Coast Possible due to Record High Water Temperature
BalkanTravellers.com
The temperature of the sea has reached a record high for the last 30 years, the Ta Nea newspaper reported, based on data gathered by the floating stations that measure the warmth of the surface waters.
On Thursday, the water west if the Peloponnese Peninsula, in the region of the Dodekanese Islands and south of the island of Crete reached 25 to 26 degrees Celsius.
As a comparison, the average highest temperature value of Greece’s coastal waters for the first 10 days of November is 21, according to the publication.
As BalkanTravellers.com reported last week, the whole Balkans region and especially Greece was experiencing an Indian summer at the end of October and beginning of November, marked by record high temperatures. The pleasant weather in the region, however, seems to be coming to an end, as snowfall has already been registered in some parts of the Balkans.
