Want an "Obama" Suit? Go to Bosnia

“This is a line of expensive business suits. The fact that we named it Obama was completely natural, since the newly elected president is an elegant man and one of the few that could wear suits,” the director of the Borac company, which is based in the town of Travnik in central Bosnia, told international media recently.
Another factor that may have helped in the name choice is that the company’s name – Borac (pronounced Borats), sounds similar to the first name of the new US president.
Borac is Bosnia’s oldest garment producer and it manufactures clothing for brands such as Pierre Cardin and Hugo Boss. In addition to textile production, it is active in the hotel management and tourism services.
When the line was launched it was still not known who would emerge as the winner in the US presidential election, but the designers liked the name nonetheless, according to media reports.
The designers’ choice was in line with the general support Obama enjoyed in the Balkans during the election campaign. According to various polls, most of the region’s inhabitants favoured him over McCain, although experts predict that the Balkans will be at the end of the next US administration’s list of priorities.
