2022 Main tee times, pairs: complete field, groups and schedule for the first round at the Augusta National

Augusta, GA – The 2022 Masters is set to begin Thursday, but even the first round of play couldn’t avoid the inclement weather that hit Augusta National early in the week. Due to the early morning thunderstorms, the entire day’s schedule was delayed by 30 minutes.

Let’s hope this is the only delay as the 91 golfer’s course aims to complete the first round with a full 18-hole set to ensure there are no further delays as happened earlier in the week. At this point, it is very important to know when golfers will actually take the course in round one on Thursday. Barring further weather-related delays, the tee times and groups released for the first and second rounds should attract patrons and spectators.

The Augusta National distributed wealth proportionately ahead of the first 36 holes of the sport’s most prestigious tournament. From start to finish, there’s plenty of intrigue on the first tee in this year’s first major tournament. Morning/afternoon divisions may face dramatically different conditions whether it’s from damp grass, heavy air or even wind. There was a hurricane warning in the area on Tuesday during training runs, and the course was closed again early Wednesday due to heavy thunderstorms in the area.

There are a number of strong combos set at 10 AM and 1 PM ET. Here are a few things that stand out from the rest of the field.

10:42 a.m. – Kevin Kesner, Daniel Berger, Tommy Fleetwood
10:53 a.m. – Bryson DeChambeau, Cameron Smith, Paul Casey
11:04 a.m. – Tiger Woods, Louis Oosthuizen, Joaquin Niemann
11:15 a.m. – Hideki Matsuyama, Justin Thomas, James Peut (a)
11:26 a.m. – Adam Scott, Scotty Scheffler, Tony Finno

2:22 p.m. – Jordan Spieth, Victor Hovland, Xander Shaveli
2:33 p.m. – Matthew Fitzpatrick, Brooks Koepka, Rory McIlroy

The Augusta National doesn’t usually do mega combos in the first two days, and while that’s technically true (they haven’t rounded up the world’s top three players), these Spieth-Hovland-Schauffele and Fitzpatrick-Koepka-McIlroy triples would be a blast to watch close The first round of work. Above and below the tee is a nice amalgamation of many different types of players at different stages of their careers.
