5 Android Apps You Won’t Miss This Week

Welcome to version 432 of Android weekly apps. Here are the top headlines from the past week:

  • Netflix is accelerating Its ad-supported plan and password sharing ban. The changes may be unveiled sometime in late 2022. The report stemmed from a staff memo about Netflix doing exactly that. Netflix appears to be reacting to the massive loss of subscribers and trying to find ways to get people back. Definitely, Fatigue is a thing Netflix is still unable to detect this.
  • One of the most important announcements at Google I/O 2022 It was the new My Ad Center. It’s a place where people can change, delete, or see the information Google has collected about them. It’s not very different from the website that Google already has, but it will be easier to find and use.
  • Wear OS was another important topic At the Google I / O conference. We get official pixel clock. Google has also promised to focus more on new apps, including some of the big names like SoundCloud and Deezer. Hopefully they’re serious this time around because Wear OS really needs better app support.
  • Google is relaunching the Google Wallet. The new version is not much different from the old version. You can enter your payment cards, click to pay, and you can store things like membership cards. This new version also includes support for driver’s licenses along with digital car keys. These are new additions to Android and it was only a matter of time before we saw support for them.
  • Nothing Launcher has expanded its reach On new devices this week. It is not available for all devices with Android 11 or higher. We’ve seen some seriously mixed reactions to the Nothing Launcher, but it has the potential to be even better. Click on the link to find out more.

Ringtone Maker by Yogesh Dama

price: $1.49

Screenshot Ringtone Maker

Ringtone Maker is what the name says. It allows you to cut the audio files on your phone and then use those audio files as ringtones. This category isn’t new, so you’ve likely seen things like this before. This isn’t all that different except that it’s new and should ostensibly get updates. That’s not something you can say about many of its competitors. The app lets you load in the track, trim it, and then view it as you normally would. It can also customize the ringtone after creation, saving you a trip to your settings menu.

Dislite

price: Free to play

Dislyte is a mobile RPG with gacha elements. You summon various heroes and use them to fight against villains. Player growth is fairly common with the usual upgrade structures commonly seen in gachas. Combat is similarly typical, but it looks nice and that matters at least a little bit. It separates itself from other gachas games with a rhythm-style mini-game where you get additional resources. It has the theme of superhero and mythical creature so you must be familiar with many heroes. Could use some improvement and looks pretty decent.

QR Master screenshot

QR Master is a QR code reader and generator. Since Android 13 has a built-in QR reader, the QR readers in the Play Store are somewhat redundant. Fortunately, this also generates QR codes and that’s what makes it useful. You can generate a QR code in 24 different ways and include things like your contact details, Wi-Fi password, and even app download links. Reader functionality is still very good and supports things like flashlights and up to four times zoom. It’s not bad frankly, but we wish there was a premium version so we could buy our way out of the ads.

Chinese parents

price: Free / $4.99

Chinese Parents is a life simulation game where you grow up in a Chinese family. The game allows you to live for 18 years as a child where you will interact with a variety of characters in a variety of situations. You can also choose between being a boy and a girl. Each gender has its own story path. The game features over 100 endings, mini-games to keep things fun, and more. Some people are not fans of the user interface and it has some bugs when compared to the Steam version. We hope the developer will fix these bugs.

NothinK is a collection of widgets, wallpapers and live wallpapers. It’s using the ‘detailed’ buzzword you’ve probably seen in marketing before. Fortunately, the widgets and wallpapers look and work just fine. You need KWGT and KLWP in order to make it work, but other than that, it’s pretty easy. There are widgets for calendar, calculator, music, battery, weather, volume, Google search, and many other applications. Marketing gimmicks aside, this is actually a very nice little set of tools and wallpapers at a fair price.
