HONOLULU (Associated Press) — An actor best known for playing “The Flash” in the “Justice League” movies was arrested at a karaoke bar in Hawaii, where police said Ezra Miller bluntly shouted, snatched a microphone from a woman singer and rushed toward a man playing darts.
Kenneth Keucho, an assistant police chief for Hawaii, said Miller got into trouble late Sunday when people sang Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s song “Shallow” at a bar frequented mostly by locals in Hilo, a small town on the Big Island.
Quiocho said the song aggravated Miller.
Koyocho said Miller, who was described by police as a 29-year-old visitor from Stamford, Vermont, had been the source of police calls in Hilo 10 times since March 7, adding that it was not clear how long Miller had been on the island.
Quiocho said they were “manini” incidents — the Hawaiian term Pidgin can mean slight or petite — such as photographing people at a gas station, refusing to leave the sidewalk area of a restaurant and arguing with people.
Miller was arrested in Margarita Village shortly after midnight Monday and charged with disorderly conduct and harassment. Miller was released after paying a $500 bond.
Hours later, police escorted Miller outside a property in Hilo after a resident called police to seek advice on removing two of the home’s guests from his property, Quiocho said.
According to court records, two people filed a petition on Tuesday seeking a temporary restraining order against Miller over that incident.
The petition said Miller broke into their bedroom and threatened them.
The couple’s petition accuses Miller of stealing some of their belongings, including their passport and wallet.
Miller’s agent and his attorneys did not immediately respond to letters seeking comment on Tuesday.
Terry Brikasky, the inn owner, said the couple allowed Miller to stay with them at the inn.
She said when he arrived about five days ago, she had no idea Miller was until the other guests wanted to take their pictures with the actor.
“It’s friendly and makes people feel good,” Prikasky said. “He is not arrogant. He takes pictures with people.”
Miller says on Instagram that he prefers the pronouns they/they. Prikasky said she was not aware of this.
She said she did not know what happened between Miller and the couple. She said another friend drove Miller to the volcano area.
Miller, who is credited as the first LGBT person to play a major role in a major superhero movie, has played verbal outcasts in the big (“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”) and small (“We Need to Talk About Kevin” and” Advantages of being a sunflower “).
Miller also plays a major role in the upcoming “Harry Potter” movie from the universe, “Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore.”
