“Georgia Meloni shows little inclination to disassociate herself from anti-Moscow European positions”

The coalition that won yesterday’s elections (interestingly called the “center-right”) was the “invention” of Silvio Berlusconi, who entered politics in 1994. It is based on three pillars and power relations. It has grown significantly over time.

Under the leadership of Matteo Salvini, the party underwent a “Lebenist” turn, but it retains a strong regional identity in its DNA, especially in Lombardy and Veneto.

Finally, the post-fascists of the MSI, which became the National Alliance in 1995, were the “ancestors” of the Fratelli d’Italia. Excluded from the “constitutional curve” until the mid-1990s, the party began its transformation, in which Georgia Meloni was the final incarnation of Mr. Thanks to Berlusconi.
