Ukraine accuses Russia of rigging the referendum in Kherson and Zaporizhia

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zhelensky on Thursday accused Russia of trying to organize a bogus independence referendum in the occupied Kherson and Zaporizhia areas of the south.

“Not only to conduct a census. (…) This is not to provide you with any humanitarian assistance. If the order to organize this joke comes from Moscow, in order to prevent it from actually being called a referendum on your land,” the Ukrainian president warned.
