Joe Biden announces new military aid to Ukraine
Joe Biden announced $ 800 million in military aid to Ukraine this Thursday. The envelope contained “heavy artillery, dozens of howitzers, 144,000 ammunition and drones,” he said.
Joe Biden said he would receive additional funding from Congress to continue providing military assistance to Ukraine. Washington plans to provide an additional $ 500 million in economic assistance to keep the Ukrainian government afloat.
Ukraine accuses Russia of rigging the referendum in Kherson and Zaporizhia
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zhelensky on Thursday accused Russia of trying to organize a bogus independence referendum in the occupied Kherson and Zaporizhia areas of the south.
“Not only to conduct a census. (…) This is not to provide you with any humanitarian assistance. If the order to organize this joke comes from Moscow, in order to prevent it from actually being called a referendum on your land,” the Ukrainian president warned.
