Travis Kelsey, Tony Cadarius are absent chiefs for the sixth day of TEA

Kansas City Chiefs Travis Kelsey was not present for the sixth day of Organized Team Activities (OTAs) on Thursday, as the club entertained the media in its only training appearance of the week.

In addition to Kelsey, eight other Chiefs were absent: tight end Blake Bell, defensive tackle Chris Jones, running back Jerrick McKinnon, running back Isiah Pacheco, left tackle Donovan Smith, wide receiver Emyr Smith-Marsett, cornerback Larios Snead, wide receiver Kadarius Toni and defensive tackle Turk Wharton.

For his second straight media look, Trent McDuffie was training without a helmet. Safety Mike Edwards and offensive tackle Chukwuebuka Jason Godrick were also spotted without their helmets.

Jones, McKinnon, Pacheco and Wharton were absent during the first media look on the third OTA day. Pacheco (Off-season surgeries) Wharton (Anterior cruciate ligament rupture) is assumed to be rehabilitating her. Snead was seen without a helmet on the third day but did not take to the field on the sixth. Last week, coach Andy Reid confirmed that keeping both McDuffie and Sneed was a precaution.

Tight end Jodi Fortson and defensive tackle Derek Nadi—who were not seen in practice on Day 3—were present on Day 6.

As a reminder, 10 OTA sessions Leading up to the compulsory mini-camp (June 13-15) Voluntary, so no injury report. Members of the media are only invited to one practice per week, so it’s hard to get insight from the absentee list.

The next and final media look appears on Voluntary Online Travel Agencies on Day 9, which is scheduled for Thursday 9 June.
