2022 NBA Playoffs: Suns run late by Pelicans to wrap up day two, Bucks start title defense with win

Date:

Culminating the second day’s action was the top seed Phoenix Suns host the No. 8 New Orleans Pelicans. On paper, the Suns were the favorites, but as we saw this weekend, anything can happen in the playoffs, and the Pelicans knocked out two teams last week to seize that opportunity. New Orleans had their run to make this game fun in the second half, cutting the difference to six points, but Chris Paul and the Suns didn’t hold back from the first game as the Western Conference defending champions hit hard and came away with a 110-99 win.

Earlier, the Miami Heat made an easy task for the Atlanta Hawks, 115-91 to advance 1-0 in the series. Next, the Celtics beat the net, 115-114, thanks to Jason Tatum’s incredible volley. In Game Three of the day, the Bucks and Bulls played a thriller that ended with Milwaukee winning 93-86.

NBA schedule, scores

  • Miami Heat 115, Atlanta Hawks 91
  • Boston Celtics 115, Brooklyn Nets 114
  • Milwaukee Bucks 93, Chicago Bulls 86
  • Phoenix Suns 110 New Orleans Pelicans 99
