Blizzard confirms Diablo 4 has six ultra-rare items, sparking ‘lottery level rarity’ controversy

Blizzard has stepped in to clear up the confusion surrounding the rarest items in Diablo 4, confirming that there are currently six items in the game. However, players believe that it is impossible to obtain one.

• Dombringer (Unique Sword Cut)
• Grandfather (a unique sword that cuts with his own hand)
• Ring of Starless Skies (Unique Ring)
• Andariel’s visage (unique rudder)
• Harlequin Crest (unique rudder)
• Selig’s heart melted (unique amulet)

According to Jackson, these extremely rare unique items only drop from level 85 plus enemies, always drop at 820 power, and can be obtained anywhere you can get them on a regular basis. Jackson also confirmed that the extremely rare unique pieces are “really rare,” which is the last point that puts the cat among the pigeons within the Diablo community.

Blizzard has yet to confirm the exact drop rate for these extremely rare unique shards, so Diablo 4 players are currently trying to work them out on their own, which isn’t surprising given how much they’ve wanted to. like redditor Sloppy_Donkey points it outNot only do you have to grind all the way down to take down at least level 85 enemies (Blizzard themselves said the vast majority of Diablo 4 players haven’t finished the campaign yet), but based on a few confirmed enemies they rarely drop. Players have called this unique mod “lottery level rarity,” and the items themselves are “functionally non-existent” because of that. And while previous Diablo games included extremely rare items with negligible drop rates, they had trading systems that allowed players to obtain these items from others. Diablo 4 has no such trading system, leaving players at the mercy of the game’s brutal drop rates.

For this reason, the best way to collect it is to play the content that gives you “the most special thing in each time period”. This will be a familiar tactic for the end of Diablo 4 for Diablo 4 players who will no doubt really be farming unique pieces in the most efficient way possible.

However, some Diablo 4 players are happy to have these rare unique pieces in the game the way they do, pointing to their rarity as fueling the community’s excitement at finding them, and pointing to the fact that Diablo 4 was designed as a “forever game”, i.e. A game that has been played for years, maybe even a decade, rather than months.

Whatever the case, it will be interesting to see if Blizzard increases the drop rate of these items as part of the next important patch for Diablo 4, which is coming soon.
