Peyton Hillis broke his silence about saving his two children from drowning.

The former NFL star revealed that he expects a full recovery as he expressed his gratitude for “love and prayers” in a lengthy social media post on Tuesday.

I haven’t done any interviews about this because I want to keep my family out of the public eye because it was a very traumatic time for us.

But I wanted to come here and show my appreciation for everyone who helped save my life and all of your prayers, love and support.

I left the hospital without any worries or concerns and I should be making a 100 percent recovery.

I am a very lucky and blessed man. The Lord has truly blessed me and I am so grateful.

The former jockey, 37, was released from hospital on January 21 – nearly three weeks after the horrific accident.

His sister Hayley Davis also jumped into the water to help save the children and was taken to hospital by ambulance.

She added that the incident “shaken” their family’s lives last month after the unresponsive Hillis was airlifted to the hospital from Pensacola Beach.

Hillis had volunteered as an assistant coach on his son’s team. That son, Uri, and Hillis’ young daughter were unharmed in the swimming accident.
