It looks like Bandai Namco is making this summer to remake the PlayStation! Pac-Man World: Re-Pac He’s out today on Switch, and – follow up from Klonoa fantasy fantasy series – Shows that the Japanese developer acknowledges and shows a little love for some of our childhood favorites.
Early reviews have been dropping all week, and as we work on ruling NL, we wanted to share what others think about Pac-Man’s return to the 3D platform. We’ll let you know what you think once the review is over and ready!
So far, there is only one Switch review at the time of writing this, from pocket tactics. The director gave the game a disappointing 5/10, saying that other platformers had already done everything Pac-Man World does better:
“This is the long-awaited question out of playing Pac-Man World Re-Pac, the millionth or so classic 3D platformer I’ve seen in the past two years, where exactly does the Remaster train stop? I loved Donald Duck’s Quack Attack, a game Other classic consoles from the PS1 era, but does it warrant a remake? And it’s better to spend the money on a new IP.”
Our friends in push the box They were a bit more generous, giving the game a 7/10 on PlayStation 5:
Pac-Man World Re-Pac is a fun look back in time for an era when 3D platformers were more prominent than they are today. While it didn’t quite outperform some of its contemporaries like Crash Bandicoot Warped and Super Mario 64, Pac-Man Man World is not one you should miss if you are looking for another solid 3D platform adventure.”
destructive I similarly felt about the PS5 remake, also giving it a 7/10:
“With lower level bets (combined with a low key $30 price point), and firm consistency with the level design, Pac-Man World Ryback I still stay interested all the time. I’m not sure Pac-Man World Ryback It will attract more fans, but its fans already should be happy with this new packaging. “
God is obsessed Browse the game on PC. They gave the new version a 6.5/10, citing disappointing collectibles and disappointing arcade-style levels that don’t help Pac-Man stand out from the pack:
“The level variety is certainly great, but rather unimportant collectibles and disappointing arcade-style levels spoil the game. If you’re a fan of the hungry yellow disc you’ll probably have some fun with the new release, but don’t go thinking it’s an essential purchase otherwise “.
Digitally downloaded Bringing us back to PS5, they give Re-Pac a solid 8/10, acknowledging it’s more for fans of the original game and those who are nostalgic for ’90s 3D platforms:
“When I found that my complaints were largely about wishing there were more Content In a game that was already quite enough, I know I had a good time. The original game sold 1.5 million units, was well received by critics and justified a number of sequels. Bandai Namco is most justified in trying to see if there is room for a Pac-Man World feature to be revived. “
