Franceinfo has learned from the minister's entourage that the minister of the interior, who is currently visiting Guadeloupe, was assaulted by a young man on Thursday near Pointe-à-Pitre, in the premises of the local television station Guadeloupe 1ère.
According to Gerald Dorman's entourage, the minister was on his way to record an interview at the Chanel premises. “I clung to him, wanting to hold him.”, before the intervention of its security service. The man was arrested and detained at the Baie-Mahault gendarmerie.
The minister was not injured. He then recorded his interview as scheduled.
